I love You, Lord
Oh Your mercy never fails me
All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
And in darkest night You are close like no other
I’ve known You as a Father
I’ve known You as a Friend
And I have lived in the goodness of God, yeah
And all my life You have been faithful, oh
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God, yeah
‘Cause Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me
Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me
With my life laid down, I’m surrendered now
I give You everything
‘Cause Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I’m gonna sing of the goodness of God
I’m gonna sing, I’m gonna sing (oh, God)
‘Cause all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I’m gonna sing of the goodness of God
Oh, I’m gonna sing of the goodness of God

God is good. All the time. (Repeat that over and over.)
Psalm 107:1 tells us, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! This scripture is not just a statement it is also an attribute, or internal character, of our great God. God is good, always as he can do no other. It is also a promise since his steadfast love endures forever., always as he can do no other.
The writer of Psalm 136 can’t speak of nothing else but how God’s love is steadfast to those who give thanks to the Almighty for everything. The One True God, creation, battles won, daily life, and provisions all bestowed upon us by a good God. Those who think they could exist without Almighty God is fooling themselves. Everything we have, daily needs, our mere existence is provided to us by a loving God. And our response should always be out of heart of thankfulness to him.
The holiday of Thanksgiving is this week here in the United States. We Americans can be so forgetful and self-absorbing that we tend to forget all we have in this Nation is because of the blessings given to us by God. Our tables are full; thus, our hearts should be overflowing with gratitude.
Thank you, God. For all you are and all you have given us. To you alone I give thanks. To you alone be all glory and praise for how you have blessed me. Though undeserving you have bestowed much more than I could have ever imagined. Only you are worthy.
At this month of AD 2024, God has been teaching me all year to be fuller of thanksgiving and less preoccupied with being dissatisfied. I cannot change what our Lord has deemed for me at this time of my life. Though I’ve realized that what does come my way could literally be preparation for my future. I would look foolish to get somewhere and not be prepared though the lesson did come across my past. It is only through the mercy of God that he is teaching me to be patient while being thankful.
God is good. All the time. (Repeat that over and over.)
The lyrics at this post’s commencement is “The Goodness of God.” Though performed by Bethel Music and others, you MUST read it the way Cece Winans sings this song. Look it up. It will totally give you chills.
Grace and peace, James
